Voies gare de Frasne sens E-O, Doubs. Avec Mouchard (39), c'est un important point de bifurcation de l'ancienne région Franche-Comté, d'où se séparent 2 lignes: voie vers Neuchâtel (CH) à l'est via Verrières de Joux et Pontarlier, empruntée par les relations Lyria Paris-Berne; voie vers Vallorbe (CH) au sud-est via tunnel du Mt d'Or, parcourue par les TGV Paris-Lausanne; Les trains pour Genève passent plus au sud via Bourg-Bellegarde (01) et la ligne du Ht-Bugey, réaménagée au début des années 2010.

SBB owned 6-car RABe 1051 no. 1055 is seen at Frasne on 8 July 1993. The initial 4 sets were built as 5-cars between 1961 and 1967 and strengthened to 6 cars when 1055 was built. These sets were truly International trains equipped to work on 4 voltages and allocated to Trans Europe Express (TEE) from Switzerland to France, Belgium and Italy. Part of the TEE branding was 1st class only seating. With the introduction of TGVs and the EuroCity branding in the 1980s, these sets found their way onto feeder routes and had some seating areas declassified to 2nd. For some years, the sets worked from Switzerland to stations in Eastern France to connect with TGVs from Genève and Lausanne to Paris. Seen here between duties at Frasne on 8 July 1993 is set RABe 1055 which worked train EC426, 17:05 Bern to Frasne. Here the train connected with TGV EC26 from Lausanne to Paris Lyon. The RABe's were all withdrawn from regular passenger service by 1999.
