Train 1048, 07:16 Paris-Est to Luxembourg photographed on 3 September 1989. Taken at Longwy is Luxembourg Railways (CFL) "Flat Iron" loco 3607 on the last part of an unusual working from Paris to Luxembourg via Charleville-Mézières. This being a rather longer route than the more direct one via Metz. Diagrammed beyond Charleville-Mézières was an SNCF CC13000 "Flat Iron" running round at Longuyon before reaching the border here. Note the very basic SNCF baggage trolleys on the opposite platform.
