Monument of Notre-Dame-de-la-Marne in Barcy (Seine-et-Marne, France). The place was occupied on september, 4 1914 by the staff of the avant garde of German general von Kluck. The bishop of Meaux, Mgr Barbeau, promised on september 8 to build a monument if his town was preserved. The monument inaugurated on june 9, 1924 is an obelisk on a slight height. With a statue of Madonna and Child by the sculptor Louis Maubert. There is a plaque on the monument : Tu n'iras pas plus loin (=You will not go further).
