Many French stations serving two or more towns or villages bear all names. Montréjeau-Gourdan-Polignan lies on the line from Toulouse via Tarbes to Bayonne. In addition to serving fast and stopping trains on this route, it is the junction station for infrequent services to Luchon. Seen here is BB 8611 on a push-pull set taken on 19 August 1992. These mixed traffic locos were found at several depots in France on the 1500V dc network. Ones allocated to Toulouse as seen here were push-pull fitted for services in the area. Having arrived here late afternoon, I was able to find a hotel, book in and return back to the station all within an hour. Next move after was a bus to Luchon to take the train back.
