According to an explanatory panel on the site, "Several documents allow us to assume that this cortal" (orri / cabane) "was erected between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th." The building was surrounded by a space for the threshing of cereals and for corralling cattle, and by adjacent terraces for crops and pasture. The building served as a temporary store of grain and grass, a reserve for tools, and for shelter. Extensive restoration work was carried out on the edifice, in years up to 2017. Cet instrument, qui mesure l'occurrence des tremblements de terre, a été installé sur ce site, juste à l'est du village de Fillols, en 2012. L'instrument est situé sur la faille de la Têt, une faille normale néogène majeure qui sépare le bassin miocène du Conflent au nord-ouest du massif paléozoïque (et antérieur) du Canigou au sud-est.
